Out first adventure in St. Petersburg was a trip to Peterhof also know as Petrodvorets. Built in 1714 by Peter the Great, it was the royal summer residence for 200 years until the October Revoltuion of 1917. It suffered when occupied by the Germans in World War II. Much of it has been restored. We toured the exterior gardens with their magnificent fountains.
